I might have had issues with another tire on my +30 offset wheels, but the 35x12.5 Federal M/T's I'm running have staggered shoulder lugs on the outer edge. With a true 35X12.50 tire you need less offset so you don't rub the skid. The absolute perfect offset for running 35s is a +35mm wheel. The problem is that there aren't many +35mm wheels available. But there are plenty of +25mm. The difference between +25mm and +35mm is less than half an inch.You do not need gears. 4.88 with 35s means a shorter final drive ratio than stock. 4.88 with 37s means a longer final drive ration than stock. Its really just personal preference. You shouldnt consider gears unless you are considering 37" tires. We moved the front inside wheel well forward a little and slightly bent back the edge of the skid plate or trimmed it a little and removed flaps; no rub at all. Only a little on the frame. I'd recommend trimming to fit a 37x12.5 mounted on a 10" wide 6x5.5 wheel at 4-1/2" (or 4-5/8") backspacing. You might never run that tire, but you can certainly run a Q78-16 TSL or a 36x12 SX, and if you want to play on 37s, you can.
