The Costa Rica Discount Card people have great costomer service and will answer your questions and be there if you need help. We don't arrive for another couple weeks but we are really looking forward to our trip!

The paperwork will accurately record the gas level at the time of rental and for the rental agreement, you would be expected to return the vehicle with the same level of gas.
